About Scott Anderson

Scott Anderson is a long-time resident of the North Okanagan. He is married and the father of three adult children. His life has been shaped by work that spans two worlds: the demanding, practical reality of blue-collar labour including time on a fast-rig in northern Alberta and the responsibility-heavy worlds of academia, public service, and leadership. That combination has made him both plain-spoken and outcome-driven, comfortable with people who build things and people who plan things.

As a Member of Parliament, he serves on the Standing Committee for National Defence, where he works on strengthening Canada’s security and readiness. Anderson lives in the North Okanagan and remains deeply committed to serving the people of this riding.

With academic training in strategic studies and experience as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve, Anderson has maintained a strong interest in security and defence. During the war, he made two visits to Ukraine, travelling through the eastern oblasts to witness the situation near and at the front to better understand the human and operational realities of that conflict.

Anderson served two terms on Vernon City Council, where he focused on the core responsibilities of local government: public safety, housing, infrastructure, and planning, budgeting, and economic development. He gained a reputation for asking hard questions, insisting on clear answers, and staying grounded in what residents experience every day. In parallel, Anderson has been a business owner and communications professional.
